Presenter bio
Vali Shishebori is a PhD candidate in Architecture and the Built Environment at Victoria University, Australia. His research focuses on the interaction between outdoor environmental conditions and indoor air quality (IAQ), with an emphasis on residential buildings and nature-based and passive strategies for improving indoor environmental performance. His work integrates field measurements, numerical simulations, and data-driven analysis to investigate how microclimate, occupant behaviour, and building characteristics influence indoor air quality, thermal comfort, and energy efficiency.
Vali has experience using advanced environmental monitoring tools and simulation platforms, including ENVI-met, to assess the impacts of urban and building-scale interventions. His current research explores the dynamics of indoor–outdoor air exchange under varying environmental conditions, including extreme events such as bushfire smoke episodes. Through this work, he aims to contribute to the development of practical, evidence-based strategies for improving indoor environments in the context of climate change and increasing urbanisation.
