Devan Valenti

Devan Valenti is Director of Sustainability, APAC at AESG, where he established and now leads the firm’s Australian operations. Since launching the business in 2024, he has grown the team across Sydney and Melbourne to 15, supporting leading developers, investors and asset owners with ESG, sustainability and health and wellbeing strategies. Under his leadership, AESG has delivered more than 10 WELL certifications for organisations including Cbus Property, Mirvac and Investa. 

Originally from South Africa, Devan began his career with the Green Building Council before moving to London to work in sustainability consulting. In 2017, he relocated to Australia to join the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA), where he led the development of Green Star Buildings, delivering the most significant overhaul of the Green Star rating system in over 20 years. The new framework introduced a greater focus on social sustainability, health and wellbeing and outcomes-based performance. 

Devan later joined the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) as Regional ESG Lead and Senior Manager, partnering with some of the region’s largest organisations including Cbus Property, Lendlease, Charter Hall, Standard Chartered Bank and Unilever to develop health, wellbeing and ESG strategies across their property portfolios. 

With a background in economics and nearly 15-years of experience across sustainability, ESG and the built environment, Devan specialises in helping organisations understand the commercial value of sustainability. His expertise spans ESG strategy, sustainable finance, green building rating systems, health and wellbeing and the integration of sustainability into investment and development decisions.
