Dr Claire Bird has spent several decades in indoor air quality from completing her Doctoral studis on airborne microorganims, to conducting large scale site investigations after catastrophic events. Today she is driving and directing industry IAQ development alongside academic research, standards development at home with Standards Australia, and internatinally with the American Industrial Hygiene Association. She has authored key texts for Occupational Hygiene degrees, whilst overseeing commercial laboratory analysis and training. Her current focus is on connecting industry across the diverse sectors that make up the IAQ market. She serves as Associate Director for the AIRAH Indoor Air Quality Special Technical Group and has undertaken substantial publication and advocacy support to AIRAH on its IAQ journey. She also holds the position of Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne and is Vice President of IBEC.
