The Damp Knight

The hero nobody asked for, delivering truths the industry doesn’t particularly want to hear. Batman doesn’t work within the system — he operates in the spaces the system can’t or won’t address. That’s a fair description of what building science practitioners have been doing for decades: filling the gaps that codes leave open, fixing problems that regulation should have prevented, and doing it without much official recognition. The Dark Knight framing also carries a certain gravitas — this isn’t a joke, the stakes are real, and the work matters.
